Act First Time Auditions

San Giacomo Bologna

A tradition dating back at least to Isidore of Seville tells that James went to Spain to spread the Gospel. If this trip took place, was followed by a return of the apostle in Judea, where, in the early forties of the century, King Herod Agrippa I "began to harass members of the Church, and he killed James the brother of John with the sword" .
James was the first apostle martyr. After c d Apita, according to the Legenda Aurea, his disciples stole the body and its miraculously managed to take on the Galician coast. The tomb containing his remains was discovered in the year 830 dall'anacoreta Pelayo following a bright vision. Teodomiro Bishop, notified of such a prodigy, he arrived on the spot and discovered the remains of the Apostle. After this miraculous event the place was named campus stellae ("field of the star") from which it derives its present name of Santiago de Compostela, the capital of Galicia ..

Wherever you go, there is a road to Santiago!
